Daniele Lezzi, co-founder of OneCareAI and Senior Researcher at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC), had the honour of presenting OneCareAI to Jaume Collboni, Mayor of Barcelona, during a visit organised by Tech Barcelona to the BSC AI Factory at Pier7.
The visit brought together the Mayor with leading figures from Barcelona's AI ecosystem, including Mateo Valero, Director and founder of the BSC, Cristian Canton, Associate Director, and Mariona Sanz Ausàs, coordinator of the BSC AI Factory, who welcomed the Mayor and introduced him to the centre's mission, its space, and the startups it is proudly incubating.
OneCareAI was among the startups selected to present live to the Mayor, showcasing its AI-powered platform for stroke prevention, combining ECG data from wearable devices with advanced machine learning models developed at the BSC to identify hidden atrial fibrillation and predict cerebrovascular risk in real time.
The BSC AI Factory is one of Europe's key AI infrastructure initiatives, part of the EU AI Factories programme supported by the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking. Based at Pier7 in Barcelona, it provides startups and research teams with access to high-performance computing, AI expertise and a collaborative innovation ecosystem, exactly the environment that allowed OneCareAI to grow from a research project into a market-ready spinoff.

La visita reunió al alcalde con figuras destacadas del ecosistema de IA de Barcelona, entre ellas Mateo Valero, director y fundador del BSC, Cristian Canton, director asociado, y Mariona Sanz Ausàs, coordinadora del BSC AI Factory, quienes dieron la bienvenida al alcalde y le presentaron la misión del centro, sus instalaciones y las startups que acoge con orgullo.
OneCareAI fue una de las startups seleccionadas para presentar en directo al alcalde, mostrando su plataforma de prevención del ictus basada en IA, que combina datos de ECG de dispositivos wearables con modelos avanzados de aprendizaje automático desarrollados en el BSC para identificar fibrilación auricular oculta y predecir el riesgo cerebrovascular en tiempo real.
El BSC AI Factory es una de las iniciativas clave de infraestructura de IA en Europa, parte del programa EU AI Factories respaldado por la EuroHPC Joint Undertaking. Con sede en Pier7 en Barcelona, ofrece a startups y equipos de investigación acceso a computación de alto rendimiento, experiencia en IA y un ecosistema de innovación colaborativo, exactamente el entorno que permitió a OneCareAI crecer desde un proyecto de investigación hasta un producto listo para el mercado.
